Comics for Change! 5: Ibrahim Mubarak


The fifth volume in the Comics for Change! series, the comic follows the story of Ibrahim Mubarak, one of the founders of Dignity Village and the activist group Right 2 Survive. A former aerospace technician that advocated with and for the rights of Portland’s homeless community, Mubarak’s tale is an inspiring message of nonviolent protest and social education. Written by Anne Marie DiStefano and illustrated by Jesse Reklaw.

Anne Marie DiStefano is a Portland writer whose work has been featured in the Portland Tribune. Jesse Reklaw is a cartoonist, painter, and author of the comic strip Slow Wave. His work frequently appears in small-press anthologies and has also been featured in Houghton Mifflin’s Best American Comics collection in 2006.
