Oregon History Comics 4: Portland's Black Panthers


In Portland’s Black Panthers, author Sarah Mirk and illustrator Khris Soden present the legacy of Kent Ford, the leader and founder of Portland’s Black Panther chapter. Featuring original testimony from Ford, this story traces the volatile history of the local chapter and the impact it has had within the city’s black and activist communities.   

Sarah Mirk is an Oregon-based writer and current online-editor for Bitch Media. Her work has also been featured in the weekly newspapers The Portland Mercury and Seattle’s The Stranger. Khris Soden is a multi-media artists and a member of the Portland based art group The M.O.S.T.
