The Streets of Chinatown traces the development of one of the city’s oldest and most notorious districts. Written by Sarah Mirk and illustrated by Harry Lau, this comic presents a critical look at the domestic and working histories of the immigrant communities that shaped Portland’s downtown.
Sarah Mirk is an Oregon-based writer and current online-editor for Bitch Media. Her work has also been featured in the weekly newspapers The Portland Mercury and Seattle’s The Stranger. Harry Lau is a designer, animator, and tattoo artist whose work has appeared in various local publications including PDX Magazine and The Portland Mercury.
